I have been deeply involved in international educational exchange throughout my career, encouraging and facilitating the flow of students and scholars to and from Asia and the United States. Based on my extensive professional experience, I can say with confidence that studying in the United States will enrich both you and the American college or Univ. you attend. You will benefit enormously from the education and the interaction with not only America students but with students from around the world. The receiving institution will welcome your many contributions to making a more diverse campus. Since 1997, more than 200 colleges and universities and more than 6,000 young people have participated in these programs, enabling talented students from Asia to gain entry into the American educational system.I look forward to seeing many of you attend colleges and universities in the United States. You will be making your own important contributions to mutual understanding while at the same time receiving the education, training and experience that will give you a competitive edge in this increasingly demanding and interdependent world. 저는 그동안 유학생들이 미국에서 교육을 받을수 있도록 하는 일을 해 오고 있었습니다. 그동안 많은 학생들을 보내 왔고 이러한 노하우를 통하여 미국의 대학과, 학생들 모두에게 이로움을 줄 수 있다고 확신을 하였고 그 결과 미국 학생들 뿐만 아니라 전세계의 학생들에게 이로움을 주는 장학금 지원 협회를 만들게 되었습니다. 1997년 이후로 170여개의 대학과 10,000명이상의 젊은이들이 이 프로그램에 참여해 왔으며, 유학생들의 재능을 미국 교육시스템 안에서 펼칠수 있도록 지원 해 왔습니다. 저는 꿈을 가진 많은 해외 학생들이 미국 유학길에 오르기를 기대 합니다. 여러분들은 교육, 훈련과 경험을 통해 점점더 까다로와 지고 상호 의존적인 세상에서 여러분들이 가지고 있는 능력을 충분히 발휘 할 수 있는 인재로 거듭날 것 입니다.
